The part you can't see
A magnet sealed inside
Not glued on the back. Printed in.
Most printed magnets are a flat shape with a magnet stuck to the back. Glue lets go, and the magnet ends up on the fridge while the shape ends up on the floor.
These are different. Partway through the print, the printer stops, a small neodymium magnet goes into a pocket, and the next layers close over it. The magnet is inside the plastic, so there is nothing to come unstuck and the back is smooth.
It took a few test prints to get right: the pause first left a mark on the back, so it moved to the edge of the bed, and the eyes got bigger after the first ones lost their sparkle at this size.

01 / DESIGN
Drawn from scratch
Every character is an original design, drawn so the smallest details are still big enough to print cleanly at 35 mm.
02 / PRINT
Four colors at once
A four-toolhead printer lays each color as its own plastic, face down on the bed, so the front comes out smooth and the color goes all the way through.
03 / SEAL
Magnet goes in mid-print
The printer pauses, the magnet drops into its pocket, and printing carries on over the top. No glue anywhere.
04 / PACK
Checked by hand
Each one is checked for clean colors and a flat back, bagged, and sent in a padded mailer.

Questions
How long until it ships?
Everything ships from stock, within a few business days, by USPS Ground Advantage with tracking. Shipping within the US is free.
How strong are they?
Each one has a 10 × 2 mm neodymium magnet sealed inside.
Are they safe for children?
No: these are decorations, not toys. Each piece contains a small, strong magnet. Keep them away from children under 14 and pets. Swallowed magnets can stick together inside the body and cause serious injury, so get medical help immediately if one is swallowed. Keep them away from pacemakers and medical implants.
What are they made of?
PolySonic PLA, a plant-based plastic, and a neodymium magnet. No paint and no glue: the colors are the plastic itself.
How do I look after them?
Keep them off a hot windowsill and out of a parked car in summer, because PLA starts to soften around 60 °C. Wipe with a damp cloth. Not for the dishwasher.
Can I order a custom design or color?
Not at the moment. The range is the twenty designs in the shop, so every order can ship from stock.
